After leaving Spanish side Sevilla at the end of last season, the former Bayern Munich youth player is currently enduring a two day trial with Markus Weinzierl's FC Augsburg, as the Polish-born former German international looks to find a club for the upcoming campaign.

After moving to Hamburg at an early age, Trochowski rose through the ranks of cult club, FC St. Pauli and eventually was signed by Bayern Munich. However after becoming frustrated with a lack of opportunities and playing time in the Bavarian capital Trochwoski made the move back to Hamburg, this time playing for St. Pauli's arc-rivals HSV.

In a fruitful six year period at the Volksparkstadion, Trochowski established himself as a regular appearing 180 times for die Rothosen. The stand out moment for the man born in Poland had to be a 2-0 victory over former club, Bayern, in which Trochowski scored and contributed an assist. He also became a regualr for the German national side, making 35 appearances between 2006 and 2010.

At the expiration of his contract with HSV; Trochowski chose to make the move to Andalucia and Sevilla FC. However his period in Southern Spain wasn't as fruitful as his time in Northern Germany, as Trochowski ony managed three goals in a three year spell at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán. Trochowski's contract at Sevilla was terminated in September 2014, but the former HSV man challenged the decision in court; something that is still on going to this day.

Aspirations in Augsburg

During today (Thursday 16th July) and tomorrow (Friday 17th July) Trochowski will undergo a two day trial with Markus Weinzierls, die Fuggerstädter.

After qualifying for Europe for the first time in their history, FC Augsburg have been looking to strengthen their squad and the acquistion of Trochowski, who has Champions League as well as Europa League experience would serve the club well ahead of their premier European bow.

The only other signing die Fuggerstädter have so far made is Dominik Kohr for a fee of €980'000 from Bayer Leverkusen. Kohr spent last season on loan at the WWK Arena.
