The New York Mets welcome back the Kansas City Royals to Citi Field in this World Series.  The starting pitcher for the Mets is Steven Matz who is 0-1 with a 3.72 ERA in this postseason. The starting pitcher for the Royals is former Met Chris Young who is 1-0 with a 2.31 ERA.

Game 3 was last night between the Mets and Royals at Citi Field and the Mets beat up on the Royals 8-3 after the first few innings being a very tight game. The The win for the Mets makes this a 2-1 series lead for the Royals. The Royals beat the Mets rather handedly in game 2 by a score of 7-1. They won game 1 of the series as well in a great game going 14 innings by a score of 5-4. The Mets are 4-1 at home in this postseason. The Royals are 2-4 on the road in this postseason.

The players to watch for the Mets are Daniel Murphy and Steven Matz. Daniel Murphy went 0-4 yesterday, which ended his hit streak in this postseason. He played really well this postseason before yesterday, if the Mets want to win the World Series and win this game, he needs to get back to playing well and beat up on Royals starter Chris Young and then the bullpen. Steven Matz needs to pitch well in this game dominate the Royals hitters with his full array of pitches. The Royals have struggled against left handed pitchers this season so that’s to the Met’s advantage.  If he pitches well and Murphy hits well the Mets have a good chance to tie this series up.

The players to watch for the Royals are Chris Young and Alcides Esocobar. The Royals starter in this one Chris Young pitched really well in Game 1 going for 53 pitches  in the Royals win. He has to pitch really well and dominate the Mets hitters in this one if the Royals want to win.  Alcides Escobar has to hit better in this game than he did last night for the Royals to win, the offense goes through the Royals leadoff hitter Escobar, so if he can consistently get on base in this game the Royals will have a good chance of getting on base.

What do the Mets have to in order to tie this series up? They have to execute with runners in scoring position and hit the long ball. They won last night because they played small ball with RISP and because they hit a few balls out of Citi Field.

What do the Royals have to do to win and get 1 win away from a World Series title? They have to beat up on rookie Steven Matz and get the crowd out of it early and not let them back in it. If they can put a few runs up early in the game and take the crowd at Citi Field out of it in the first few innings, they have a good chance in this game. If the Royals can beat up on Matz and send the Mets to their bullpen very early in this game they are in a good position. The crowd will also be a big factor so the previous key will lead to taking the crowd out of the game.
