On Friday July the 17th, the Bellator MMA promotion returns to Spike TV with a main event for the welterweight title between Douglas Lima and Andrey Koreshkov. In a night where the division will be the main focus, two more exciting 170’ers have just been added to the card. British slugger Paul Daley (36-13-2) will face off against Dennis Olsen (14-8). It all goes down at the Mohegan Sun Arena with a full night of welterweights battles.

Daley is a 12-year veteran of the sport and is making his third appearance under the Bellator promotion. He is currently 2-0 under the banner and is hoping he will be in line for a title shot (which he already had) after this fight. He was scheduled to face current champ Lima back in February but Lima pulled out with an injury. The explosive British striker has over 26 career knockouts.

Olson has been unsuccessful in his previous fights in Bellator but looks to shock the world with an upset over Daley. He has faced many formidable opponents in the past but has recently found life in CES. Olson is a dangerous opponent on the ground as nine of his fourteen wins are by submission. These two fighters both hold a certain advantage so it will be exciting to see which one can find that edge.

These additional bouts are added to a very exciting main card and we should see the preliminary match ups announced soon. It’s rare to see a full main card of one weight class but the 170 pound division seems to be as stacked as ever in Bellator MMA. Look for more match ups in the next few weeks and you will find the updated card for Bellator 140 is listed below.
