Hull City midfielder Jake Livermore, will avoid a drugs ban from the Football Association reports have said. The former Tottenham Hotspur player tested positive for cocain during a random drugs test in April.

The drugs test was to believed to have taken place just days after he had found out about the death of his child. The 25-year-old was given a suspension by the Fooball Association and Hull City in May. He could have been given a two-year ban but was let off by the FA.

Permanent Deal After Impressive Loan

The Tigers signed Livermore from Spurs in 2014 after having a successful loan spell during the 2013/2014 season as Hull reached the FA Cup final and avoided relegation. Hull then paid £8 million for his services and made 39 appearences in all competitions as Hull were relegated from the Premier Legaue.

Steve Bruce told the BBC in August that it was definitely a "mitigating factor."The Hull boss said he "lost his baby just after the FA Cup final last year."Jake has kept all of the problems that he had to himself."

'Big Difficulties'

He added that there are "big difficulties with Jake" and that the club have been aware of those difficulties."That's why as a mark of respect for him we have kept quiet. We understand there are many issues and I am sure there will be more to follow of what has been in the press so far," Beuce added.

The former Manchester United defender said that "People think because he is a professional footballer he has the world, but he has problems just like everybody else does."

No Extended Suspension For Livermore

Hull City are yet to comment about the reports. The BBC reported that a disciplinary hearing took place last week, the outcome being that the FA decided not to extend its provisional suspension. Livermore has not played since May 18 when the test appeared. He has also not trained with the team either.
