After a superb last gasp win against Tottenham Hotspur midweek, Leicester City will be full of confidence when they travel to Aston Villa.

It won't be as simple as Claudio Ranieri thinks though, as they play a Villa side who won for the first time since the start of the season midweek - and they won't be rolling over for the high flyers.

Ranieri in full voice against Spurs.

Background

Both sides come into this game with confidence, but different types of confidence. Leicester know a win will keep them battling for the Premier League title, whereas a victory for Aston Villa would see them win back to back games for the first time since last season.

The two teams also are battling at different ends of the table, with wins vitally important.

Villa wouldn't move off the bottom of the table with a win - but depending on other results -  they could close the gap on teams above them. Then, it would be interesting to call who will be relegated at the end of this season.

Leicester could though move top of the table with a win - depending on Arsenal's result - but the three points would assure that they stay level worse case scenario.

The previous four games between these sides has seen the statistics shared, as both sides have won two games each. Unfortunately for Leicester they haven't won at Villa Park since 2007, which doesn't prove good reading for manager Claudio Ranieri.

The East-Midlanders will have to be wary of the Aston Villa fightback though, as after that that win midweek the mood may well be a lot more positive at Villa park and turn this into a really tough away game.

Team news

Leicester City: The Foxes look set to field an unchanged side when they travel to the West Midlands, with the only real concern being whether Jamie Vardy is fit enough to start. Apart from that there are no new injury problems. People would argue that it'd be silly to change the side which beat Tottenham midweek.

Aston Villa: Carlos Sanchez and Jack Grealish have both returned to training, recovering from hamstring injury and  tonsillitis respectively. Villa will also be boosted by the return of captain Gabriel Agbonlahor who overcame a long term back issue.

Full-back Alan Hutton, a key player in the Villa back four, looks set to miss out though with a hamstring injury.

Players to watch

Leicester - Riyad Mahrez: Looking back over Leicester rise to the top from the start of the season, this man has been one of the key players. His goals, assists and high level of performance have been influential to say the least. Although the midfielder has been rather quiet lately, this could be the game where he gets back to form and really shows Aston Villa what he's all about.

Riyad Mahrez is having a fantastic season.

Aston Villa - Jordan Ayew: In a season of poor performances, Jordan Ayew is one of the only players who has shown something worthy of taking note. He's the main man when it comes to Villa's attacking force, and if they didn't have him then they probably wouldn't have a chance of staying up this season. A moment of brilliance, or a touch of class from this young man could be the difference come Saturday evening.
