Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool played out an entertaining 1-1 draw in the Premier League at White Hart Lane.
Jürgen Klopp will be disappointed his side didn't manage to get the three points given how well they played during the game. The opening goal of the game was scored by James Milner from the penalty spot after Roberto Firmino was fouled.
Mauricio Pochettino's side could have played much better and they will be happy with a point thanks to Danny Rose's 72nd minute equaliser.
Reds' dominate from the start and a Milner penalty ensures they have a half-time lead
The match began at an extremely high pace, with the hosts going for it from the start, but the first chance of the game went to the away side when Firmino played a pass through to Philippe Coutinho. The midfielder gathered the ball and hit a shot low and hard towards goal but somehow Michel Vorm managed to keep the ball out with a magnificent save.
The visitors then began to take control of the game after the Coutinho chance and if it wasn't for Vorm on two different occasions rushing off his line to stop Sadio Mane then his side would have been in trouble.
Liverpool's dominance in the first half was finally rewarded when Erik Lamela brought Firmino down in the box and referee Bobby Madley had no hesitation to award the penalty.
Milner stepped up to take it and calmly sent Vorm the wrong way to give his side a deserved lead at half-time.
The home side were very poor in the first half despite making a fast start to the game but when Klopp's side got going they failed to do anything and they were lucky it was only one goal they had conceded in the first half.
Liverpool began strongly at the start of the second half but tailed off
The second half began very scrappily with both teams failing to keep the ball for very long but Liverpool could have doubled their lead when a corner found Joel Matip in the box but his header came back off the bar.
Finally, after the hour mark, the home side started to come alive in the game when Lamela forced Simon Mignolet into a good save from a free-kick. From the resulting corner, Toby Alderweireld headed towards goal and it also required a very good save from Mignolet.
Rose punishes Liverpool's missed chances to ensure a point for Spurs'
The good spell for the home side resulted in a goal and it came from Rose who doesn't score too many. The goal was created by Eric Dier who crossed the ball into the box and it went all the way through to the left-back who took one touch and squirted the ball past Mignolet to give his side a much-needed goal.
Despite both sides pushing on to try and get a winner, they couldn't as both defences stood strong and made sure that they held on to a point from the game.
The result means that Spurs head into the international break on five points from three games, whilst Liverpool have four points.
