With Leicester City dropping precious points at Old Trafford on Sunday, Tottenham Hotspur will look to take advantage of that and on the leaders to five points, when they face Chelsea away from home on Monday.

Mauricio Pochettino and his men were dissapointed with the result last Monday against West Brom, but they will be willing to fight for the three points in this game as three points is vital for the North London team at this late stage in the season. Tottenham have not found it easy recently at the home of the Blues but this season it is a new team with a new look and a new playing style, so who knows what could happen in this game?

Spurs will be looking to bounce back from the game against the Baggies with a win against the former champions. Tottenham do not have long to catch Leicester so a win against Chelsea is critical as anything less will see Leicester crowned champions of England for the first time in their history.

Apart from their last result, Tottenham have been in very good form, beating Manchester United 3-0 at White Hart Lane and coming out victorious against Stoke City with a 4-0 scoreline at the Britannia.

Chelsea beat Bournemouth 4-1 on their last game so they will not be short of confidence coming into the game against their London rivals. Chelsea lay tenth in the Barclays Premier League but they will still be looking for a win and the three points against the title challengers.

Team news

Tottenham are without the suspended Dele Alli after a clash with West Brom's Claudio Yacob in Monday night's fixture. This will be a huge blow to Spurs as Alli has scored three goals in his last three games and has been on fire lately. Tottenham will also assess Eric Dier after he suffered a concussion in the build up to West Brom's goal. Nabil Bentaleb is still out with a knee injury and will not be able to feature in this London derby.

Chelsea are available to pick both John Terry and Gary Cahill once again. Terry has missed Chelsea's last 10 games with a hamstring problem but looks to be set to make his return against Spurs. Cahill did not feature against Bournemouth last week as he was ruled out with sickness.

Recent meetings

The last team these two teams met, it finished 0-0 in a non eventful game at White Hart Lane. However, these teams have changed significantly from that game, as Tottenham have rose to glory where as Chelsea have slipped into a mid table battle with the likes of Everton and Stoke

Tottenham have not won at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League era, a run that has lasted 25 games. Tottenham faced Chelsea last year at Stamford Bridge and lost 3-0 after Eden Hazard, Didier Drogba and Loic Remy netted the goals for Chelsea. However, the last time these two teams met in the Premier League, Tottenham won 5-3 after an inspired performance from Harry Kane and his teamates.

Chelsea will host Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge on Monday, May 2nd with kick-off at 8PM BST.
