Danny Rose has agreed a new five-year deal with Tottenham Hotspur on the back of a 5-0 win over EFL Cup opponents Gillingham.

Spurs and Mauricio Pochettino have been rolling out the new deals for first-team stars such as Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli, along with new contracts for Eric Dier and Harry Winks.

Tottenham certainly look like they are focusing a great deal of time into negotiating new deals for current player as they look to keep all of their Champions League stars at the Lane for the long-term future.

Rose is currently Spurs' longest serving player, joining from Leeds United in 2007 and he said after putting pen-to-paper: "I'm over the moon to have earned a contract that will keep me here until I'm an old man."

Last season, the 26-year-old full-back started 33 games in all competitions, bagging himself one goal against Swansea City at home. Rose has already matched his goal tally from last season, scoring a crucial goal for Tottenham against Liverpool at home to earn a 1-1 draw.

Spurs tying key players down to new deals

The Tottenham 'veteran' has certainly played a key role for his side, along with Kyle Walker. Rose provides a majority of the width for Spurs on the left-hand side of the field, while attacking talents such as Alli or Eriksen drift inside. This allows Rose to bellow up and down the field numerous times during the 90 minutes, something that he clearly enjoys very much.

In front of keeper Hugo Lloris and alongside the well experienced Tottenham defense, Rose managed 13 clean sheets in the Premier League last season, and helped Tottenham to the joint best defense in the league alongside Manchester United.

Danny Rose is a very experienced player who should once again help Tottenham to a high finish in the Premier League as they target silverware once again.
