A stoppage time goal by Salomon Rondon gave West Brom a point away from at Stoke City, denying the Potters their first Premier League win of the season.

Stoke struggle despite having majority of possession

Despite the match not being played at a particularly fast pace, there were chances at either end, Rondon shooting wide early on before  Xherdan Shaqiri got a free kick, but it was cleared away by Gareth McAuley. He got another chance a few moments later, but was again blocked away again by McAuley.

Both teams didn't get another chance at the net until Marko Arnautovic's shot in the 22nd minute, which hit Jonny Evans' hand, the Northern Irishman lucky not to give away a penalty.

Glen Johnson came close to a rare goal with an effort that was headed away by Craig Dawson, with Dawson's teammate Matt Phillips getting a chance, his shot from outside the box was blocked.

Joe Allen and Ryan Shawcross both missed chances at the start of the second half, but it was Allen that did give Stoke a deserved lead in the 73rd minute, after Pieters had seen a huge penalty appeal turned down for a supposed push in the area.

Allen opener cut out at the death

After multiple attempts of shots, including Xherdan Shaqiri's free kick going wide, Stoke scored the first goal of the match, thanks to Shaqiri's cross, which Allen slid into the net after a knockdown, giving Stoke a 1-0 lead in Tony Pulis' 1000th game as a manager,

However, West Brom were still determined to get a point out of the match, and managed to do so with a stoppage time equaliser, compounding Stoke's misery as they remain without a win this season. It looked like they'd be denied, Lee Grant diving brilliantly to keep a McClean header out.

However, when a corner was won in stoppage time, Rondon was there at the front post to flick the ball across goal and into the net, ensuring that the spoils were shared. Rondon's second goal in the Potteries in as many games, and the fourth point that he's won his team.
