In a season that has seen him score goals, setup assists and break records, it was no surprise to see Kevin De Bruyne pick up the Premier League Player of the Season award.

De Bruyne's flawless season has seen him score 13 goals in a City shirt, as well picking up an impressive 20 assists, equaling Thiery Henry's assists in a single Premier League season record.

The Belgian also acquired two Premier League records of his own, becoming the first player to record 15 assists in a season, as well as becoming the quickest player in England's top flight to reach 50 assists.

The records do not stop there as De Bruyne created 104 chances from open play this Premier League campaign, the most of any player in any of Europe's top five leagues since this data was recorded in 2006 (via Opta Joe).

So, it is clear to see from the records the Belgian has been English football's top man this campaign, now it is time to look at the moments where the 29-year-old showed his unbelievable talents first-hand.

Manchester City vs Watford 2019

Let's start things off with the Blues' early season 8-0 demolition of Watford, where De Bruyne was at the forefront of his side's unstoppable attack. The Belgian setup two stunning assists for his teammates, placing the ball - as he often does - in the 'corridor of uncertainty' making it near impossible for his opponents to defend.

The 29-year-old then also chipped in with a goal of his own, finishing off the battering with a beauty of a strike into Ben Foster's top corner.

Newcastle United vs Manchester City 2019

Now over to arguably the greatest goal of the Premier League season. When City found themselves in a frustrating 1-1 stalemate away at Newcastle it was going to take a piece of magic to cut open the Magpies solid defence, up step De Bruyne.

As the ball fell loose 20 or so yards from goal, the Belgian controlled it on his chest and hit a sublime half volley in off the bar, giving Karl Darlow absolutely no chance in the Newcaslte goal. Despite the Blues, going on to ship a late goal resulting in 2-2 draw, the game will always be remembered for De Bruyne's special strike.

Arsenal vs Manchester City 2019

Up next it is 35 minutes of magic from the Belgian. When De Bruyne and City faced off with Arsenal at the Emirates last December, the 29-year-old single handedly took the game away from the Gunners in the first 35 minutes of the clash. To kick things off De Bruyne opened the scoring after crashing in another stunning half volley into the roof of the Arsenal net just three minutes in.

Minutes later the Belgian turned provider, setting up a trademark assist (which was later harshly chalked off) across the face of the Arsenal box for Raheem Sterling to double City's lead. Then, five minutes before the break he netted his second and his side's third, slotting a cool finish from the edge of the box into the bottom corner with his so called 'weaker' left foot.

Chelsea vs Manchester City 2020

As the game was hit with drastic changes post-coronavirus lockdown, one thing that had not changed was Be Bruyne's magical talent. As his side found themselves 1-0 down away at Chelsea, the Belgian came back to haunt his former side, hitting a stunning, dipping free kick over the Chelsea wall and into the top corner, leaving a dumbfounded Kepa Arrizabalaga helpless.

Manchester City vs Norwich City 2020

Finally it is over to the final game of the season, and it is fair to see De Bruyne signed off his record-breaking campaign in some fashion. The 29-year-old once again entered a nomination into the Premier League's goal of the season contest, smashing a sublime strike into the top corner of Tim Krul's goal just before the break.

Despite his stunning strike, it was the all-important assist De Bruyne wanted to equal Henry's record, and he finally got this 10 minutes from time as he cut the Norwich backline in half to setup Sterling for City's fourth. The 29-year-old was not finished there, as he capped off his unbelievable campaign by once again sticking another super strike past Krul with arguably his last kick of the season.
