England’s youngsters booked their place at next year’s UEFA U21 European Championships after beating Turkey 2-1 at Molineux on Tuesday night.
Nketiah missed an 84th-minute penalty before calmly chipping in a record 14th goal at this level just four minutes later.
The hosts took the lead through Huseyin Turkmen’s own goal, after it was deflected from Ryan Sessegnon’s cross.
Sheffield United goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale impressed for England, keeping out Halil Dervisoglu’s penalty, but that didn’t stop the Turkish striker netting a late consolation goal.
The group stages of the U21 European Championships will take place in March and the knockout stage will be played from May 31 to June 6.
