Forest Green Rovers will be looking to get back to winning ways against Mansfield Town after falling to a 1-0 defeat away at fellow promotion chasers Cambridge United.

After drawing 2-2 with bottom of the table Grimsby Town, the Stags are hunting for their first win in four.

Coming into the game, Rovers are sat in third place, just four points off the summit. Meanwhile, Nigel Clough's side are sat in 16th place with an 11 point cushion to the drop zone.

Team news

Midfielders George Lapslie and Ollie Clarke will need to be assessed ahead of Tuesday's clash to determine whether they are included in the matchday squad.

The visitors will be without pair Ebou Adams and Jordan Moore-Taylor with the midfielder and centre half both battling injuries.

However, Mark Cooper will be boosted with the return of Eliott Whitehouse who returns from suspension.

Ones to watch

Jordan Bowery - Mansfield Town

In June 2020, the Stags signed striker Jordan Bowery from MK Dons, after the two clubs agreed terms for the transfer of the 29-year-old.

The former MK Dons frontman became the first Stags signing since the conclusion of the regular 2019/20 Sky Bet League Two season. He has 10 goals and seven assists so far this season, making him the top goalscorer at the club. His experience gives him the edge in front of goal and has allowed him to find the net on 10 separate occasions.

Jamille Matt - Forest Green Rovers

Jamille Matt is Forest Green’s top scorer so far this season with 17 goals in 31 appearances, including a hat-trick away to Scunthorpe United earlier in the campaign.

The Jamaican forward signed for Rovers from Newport County in the summer after two seasons at Rodney Parade. His good form this season has propelled the Rovers to an unlikely title charge and if he keeps it up, promotion to the third tier could be on the cards.
