After another round of European fixtures and some exciting and meaningful domestic competition at the weekend, it's time for a new edition of the power rankings. You can find the previous edition here.

The rankings are based on a combination of league performance (relative to overall strength of the league), European performance (Champions and Europa League), and my own personal bias and subjectivity. If you disagree with anything, feel costless to explain why in the comments below.

Borussia Dortmund are back above Arsenal after their Champions League victory, Chelsea make a big jump, and Zenit go all the way from outside the top 20 to 14th. Here are the full rankings:

1. Bayern Munich (up 1)

The Bayern machine keeps rumbling along, claiming Viktoria Plzen as the latest European victim. Die Roten fell behind to Hertha Berlin on Saturday before coming out 3-2 winners.

2. FC Barcelona (down 1)

Despite the penalty controversy, Barça were the better team for most of the clásico and remain in first place in La Liga. The Blaugrana are still unbeaten this season.

3. Atlético Madrid (unchanged)

Atleti slipped up against Espanyol but have been playing outstanding football. Diego Simeone is the best coach in Europe at the moment.

4. Borussia Dortmund (up 1)

A big week for Dortmund, beating Arsenal at the Emirates and Schalke at the Veltins-Arena. They only trail Bayern by a point in the Bundesliga.

5. Arsenal (down 1)

The Gunners stumbled against BVB but remain in first in the Barclays Premier League. Trips to Dortmund and Naples will likely determine their Champions League fate.

6. Real Madrid (unchanged)

Carlo Ancelotti only has himself to blame after the loss to Barça with his very questionable tactics. As evident from both the Juventus match and the clásico, sometimes you get the benefit of the refereeing, and other times not.

7. Roma (up 1)

One of just three unbeaten teams remaining in Europe’s major leagues, including Bayern Munich and Barcelona. Set a new official Serie A record with wins in their opening 9 games.

8. Chelsea (up 5)

Fernando Torres looks to be returning to his long lost form, with a brace against Schalke and an assist and the winner against Manchester City. Chelsea are just two points behind Arsenal in the BPL table.

9. Napoli (down 2)

After a disappointing loss to Roma, Napoli have rebounded with two strong performances and two clean sheets.

10. Paris Saint-Germain (up 1)

PSG were cruising thanks to the goalscoring ways of Zlatan Ibrahimović and Edinson Cavani, but a slip up against Saint-Étienne brought them back level with Monaco in the Ligue 1 table.

11. Bayer Leverkusen (up 3)

Leverkusen’s European hopes got a big boost after crushing Shakhtar 4-0. They are keeping pace with Bayern and Dortmund in the Bundesliga.

12. Juventus (down 2)

All referee controversy aside, Juventus are now in danger of missing out on the Champions League knockout rounds. The Old Lady has a tough fight on her hands in Serie A with Roma and Napoli.

13. Manchester City (up 3)

The Sky Blues were very close to a deserved draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, until a miscommunication between Matija Nastasić and Joe Hart allowed Fernando Torres to slip in and grab the winner.

14. Zenit St Petersburg (previously unranked)

Zenit showed they aren’t going away in the Champions League with a huge 1-0 win over Porto. They also have a 5 point lead atop the Russian Premier League.

15. Liverpool (unchanged)

With Suárez and Sturridge in outstanding form, Liverpool are proving themselves top 4 challengers in England.

16. FC Porto (down 7)

Their Champions League hopes took a hit after a loss to Zenit, but Porto rebounded with a 3-1 win over Sporting Lisbon yesterday.

17. Shakhtar Donetsk (down 5)

Shakhtar took a beating in Leverkusen but righted the ship in their domestic league at the weekend. They will have a chance to settle the score with Bayer 04 in Ukraine next week.

18. Fiorentina (previously unranked)

The Viola shocked Juventus at the Artemio Franchi with 4 straight goals and are perfect in the Europa League so far. This team will make things difficult for opponents all season.

19. Tottenham (up 1)

It hasn’t always been pretty for Spurs, but they are in control of their Europa League group and just 3 points back of Arsenal in the Premier League.

20. Manchester United (down 1)

David Moyes is still feeling the pressure squarely on his shoulders, but United are creeping up the BPL table and currently top a very tough Champions League group.

The rest: Inter Milan, AS Monaco, Villarreal, Galatasaray, Schalke 04, Celtic, Benfica, Olimpiakos
