Bayern München pair Franck Ribéry and Bastian Schweinsteiger will both be injured for the game against Bayer Leverkusen in the DFB Pokal quarter-final.

Schweinsteiger picked up an injury during Saturday's clash with Borussia Dortmund and was unable to train on Monday. The Germany captain will now miss the game as a result, yet another injury for the talismanic midfielder. Franck Ribéry has also been ruled out of the match, after not being able to recover in time due to an ankle injury.

The Bayern Munich injury crisis seems to be verging on the Dortmund levels of last season and the beginning of this term, although they still prevailed over BVB with several key players missing on Saturday.

Bayern München coach Pep Guardiola said: "He definitely won't be available." He added, "You hope that you have your best team available in April and May, but that's not the case, so you just have to adapt."

They join Arjen Robben and David Alaba as the other major first team members that are unavailable for the clash.
