Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben has labeled Douglas Costa as the club's "special weapon" and is confident his new teammate will succeed with the Bundesliga giants.

A hugely impressive debut

The 24-year old joined Bayern Munich from Shakhtar Donetsk in the summer and has already impressed fans from all over with his performances early on. The Brazilian scored on his Bundesliga debut and grabbed an assist as Bayern Munich thumped Hamburg, 5-0.

Talking to the club's website, Arjen Robben said, "He's a talent... He can sidestep opponents and is a special weapon for us." The duo of Douglas Costa and Robben down the wings could be frightening for anyone facing the reigning Bundesliga champions and the addition of Costa looks like a very good decision so far.

The injury woes of Franck Ribery will open the door for Costa to play plenty and under one of Europe's best managers, Pep Guardiola, the winger has plenty of room to improve.

Costa keen to keep his head down and work

A successful spell in Ukraine earned the winger his move to Bayern Munich and may prove key as the Germans look to challenge in Europe this season. Despite a bright start, Costa has remained grounded and made it clear it doesn't matter where he plays but "the main thing is to win as many games as possible."

The praise heaped on him by a player of Arjen Robben's calibre should be a massive boost for the Brazilian as his future is shaping up to be very bright. With a goal and an assist under his belt already, Douglas Costa will look to push on and establish himself as one of Europe's top wingers with a successful first season with Bayern Munich.

The German champions are clear favourites to retain their title this season with Wolfsburg likely to give them the biggest challenge for the title.
