Shamrock FC ‘Fuel’ Main Card Preview

The premier combat sports organization in the city of St. Louis, Missouri is Shamrock FC, and it returns to the River City Casino this Friday. On September 11th you will see a high impact card featuring some of the best pro and amatuer talent in the midwest region. The main event features a match up in the bantamweight division between Jordan Howard (8-3) and Dan Aguirre (10-3). The co-main is the first inaugural women’s flyweight between Rebecca Ruth (4-1) and Alice Yauger (2-3).

The feature bout showcases two of the best up and coming fighters in the region in a battle at 170 between Kyle Kurtz (4-0) and Joaquin Buckley (4-0). The two headlining bouts not only have titles on the lines but a contract with Bellator MMA. This is the main card for a night with thirteen exciting fights that make up the full lineup for Shamrock FC Fuel.

Riding a seven fight winning streak, Jordan Howard looks to solidify himself as one of the top bantamweights in all of the midwest as he meets the equally game Dan Aguirre. Winner of his last three, this should be a well contested match with two fighters capable of finishing the fight on the mat or standing. Both won their last fights with a first round stoppage, along with a title and Bellator contract on the line. You can expect fireworks.

Beckie Ruth Gullet is one of the hardest punching fighters in the flyweight division, and has added to her experience with recent fights outside of the midwest. She brings her two-fight win streak into a fight with Texas standout Alice Yauger who is 2-1 in her last three fights. Alice won her last fight via TKO and even has a victory over current Invicta FC fighter Shannon Sinn. This should be a classic fight for the first Shamrock FC women's flyweight belt, as well as a Bellator contract on the line.

Both undefeated and two of the bigger prospects in the area, Joaquin Buckley and Kyle Kurtz bring FOTN implications. Each athlete has been involved in big moments early in their fight career with Kurtz claiming a victory in Bellator over Buckley's teammate Adam Cella. Joaquin will look to avenge the loss and keep his unblemished streak intact, in a fight that we could see going the distance or ending at any moment. Both fighters have great wrestling ability, so the stand up will set the pace and could be the determining factor. This is a fight you want to make sure you are in the seats for.

Another fighter heading in the right direction under the Shamrock FC banner is welterweight prospect Jordan Dowdy (1-0). He looks to win his second professional bout in a match up with (1-0) prospect Michael Gaston, who is also finding success under the organization. Neither one of these fighters are being paid by the hour and each finished their last opponents in the first round. This should be another barn burner.

Yohance Flager (6-6) meets Jason Powell (0-1) at 155, and Marc Godeker (2-4) looks to get back on track against hard hitting heavyweight Zach Gerullis. The prelims showcase seven solid matchups with four amatuer titles on the line.
