The king is back

As noted earlier today, the domestic assault charges against Jerry Lawler and his partner, Lauryn McBride, were dismissed this morning. A representative for WWE noted to us that Lawler’s suspension has been dropped. “Jerry Lawler’s legal matter has been resolved and his suspension has been lifted, effective immediately,” read the statement that WWE sent out.

What was the story on the arrested

On June 17th, Lawler, 66, and his partner, Lauryn McBridge, 27, were both arrested on domestic assault charges. She called the police on him, but they couldn't quite figure out who started the incident, and took them both in. Jerry Lawler blamed her alcohol consumption earlier in the night on what led to their fight and claimed that she scratched his face. A gun was also found in the room, which she said he told her to kill herself with. King denied he ever said that it and it is hard to imagine he would say that.

When can we expect him back?

SmackDown next week is when you can expect to see him back on the left side of Mauro Ranallo which is a good thing because we saw last week that David Otunga took Kings place and it wasn't great. Otunga seemed out of place which wasn't surprising because he was just dropped in and he's back and being honest, who remembered he still worked for the WWE other than the people who watch the RAW pre-show every week because he hasn't wrestled a match since late 2013.

Maybe all hope isn't lost for David Otunga because the draft is coming up and the thing that has been beating into the ground at this stage is nobody is safe when it comes to the draft because anyone could end up anywhere David Otunga or Jerry the King Lawler could end up on NXT, it's not crazy to think because Jim Ross did commentary down there.
