We all know the saying, “New year, new me.” For Elina Svitolina, that statement seems to hold true in some cases since she has a new clothing sponsor. The Ukrainian was the top player to be sporting Elesse attire. However, she kicked off 2015 with a “new her”. Svitolina is now sponsored by Nike, adding to the list of top women that the brand has.

Svitolina Joins The Swoosh Scene

Svitolina joins a fantastic group of women who are also sponsored by Nike. The top women sponsored by Nike are Serena Williams, Maria Sharapova, Petra Kvitova, and Lucie Safarova. Svitolina is joined by Madison Keys, Eugenie Bouchard, Sara Errani, Sabine Lisicki, Caroline Garcia, Sara Errani, Roberta Vinci, and Alja Tomljanovic as a part of the next wave/mid-tier players sponsored by Nike.

The core of Nike isn’t just women only. Some of Nike’s most marketable athletes, are the big boys of tennis, and it begins with Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal since both men have a signature shoe and their own line of clothing, shoes, and accessories. Also part of the Nike team on the men’s are Grigor Dimitrov, Juan Martin del Potro, Bernard Tomic, and Nick Kyrgios. For Svitolina to make a jump from a small company to one of the premier tennis ones makes us believe that Nike believe that she will have a lot of success in her career.

David Goffin Also Changes Attire As Well

Svitolina was not the only one to announce that she’ll be sporting a brand of clothing to start the year. David Goffin was also active on his Twitter, announcing that he’ll be joining Asics as their premier name. The Belgian left Lacoste to join the Asics team which includes Vasek Pospisil and Steve Johnson. Due to John Isner’s move to FILA, Benoit Paire is now the highest ranked player to wear Lacoste at 19.
