Roberto Martinez is planning on adding some much-needed firepower to his squad for the start of next season - after Everton have disappointed in front of goal this campaign - and is looking to Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Nouha Dicko to provide just that.

Dicko had a superb season, impressing in the orange of Wolves and scoring 14 goals in the Championship as the Molineux side just missed out on making the playoffs.

The 23-year-old may not have to wait much longer for an opportunity in the Premier League, however, with Martinez and Everton planning on making a move for the Mali international, who he previously signed for Wigan Athletic back in 2014 before shipping him out on various different loan spells.

A valuable addition

His rapid pace and eye for goal would be a welcome addition to an Everton forward line mostly dependent on Romelu Lukaku. The Toffees fell way short of Martinez's first-season heroics last time out, and the Blues' boss will be hoping he can swiftly add to the signing of Tom Cleverley - who arrived on a free from Manchester United this week.

Dicko’s Wolves contract is set to expire in just over 12 months' time, which could mean the club might be forced to accept a lower fee from potential suitors.
