Bristol City Women have announced the signing of Chelsea Ladies’ forward Rosella Ayane.

The 19-year-old has penned a short term deal and will be hoping that the move will provide a platform for her to gain more first team experience.

Ayane took to twitter to express how happy she is with the move, tweeting: “Excited for the new challenge, can’t wait to get started.”

Past experience

The England U19 international has an impressive youth career under her belt, the Reading-born player was part of the side Chelsea U17 side that won the league and FA Youth Cup double back in 2012.

Ayane was also part of the Chelsea side that won the WSL 1 in 2015 although she did not appear for the first team during the campaign.

The starlet has shown she possesses a real talent for goal scoring, netting her first league goal as early in her career as 2013.

The Chelsea Centre of Excellence graduate grabbed some major attention when she came off the bench against London Bees and scored four goals as Chelsea came out 8-0 victors, and moved into the quarter-finals of the FA WSL Continental Tyres Cup.

Yet with fully fledged England internationals such as Eniola Aluko and Fran Kirby currently playing in the side, Ayane has found it difficult to cement a first team position and hopefully the move to Bristol is where she can show her talent again.

Busy Bristol

Bristol City have been very active in the build up to the new season, the WSL 2 side have already loaned in two Chelsea players, with Millie Farrow and Jodie Brett having also made the move.

Willie Kirk’s outfit have also signed Chloe Arthur from Hibernian Ladies, Ellie Wilson from Reading, and have resigned former club captain Corrine Yorston following a short spell at Yeovil Town.
