Manchester City winger Jesús Navas has publicly displayed his enthusiasm and intent for success ahead of Sunday's Capital One Cup final clash against Jürgen Klopp's Liverpool side at Wembley.

The 30-year-old Spaniard, who has been out of action since the start of February with a hamstring injury, passed a late fitness test and travelled with the rest of the squad in preparations for the cup final tomorrow.

Navas intent on securing more Wembley glory

Having come off the substitutes' bench to score the Citizens' third in an impressive 3-1 victory over Sunderland in the 2014 final, Navas is eager to replicate the success and leave current manager Manuel Pellegrini - who is set to leave the club this summer - with at least one piece of silverware.

As quoted by the club's official website, Navas said he's got "spectacular memories" of the side's Cup triumph in 2014. It was his first trophy since joining from La Liga side Sevilla, and scoring to give the sky Blues a two-goal cushion made the day even more special for the experienced winger on a personal level.

He said the atmosphere, fans as well as the stadium made sure it was "a great day", and playing at Wembley is something that he'll "never forget" as a result.

"Winning the cup gave us a lot of confidence, because we still had a lot of the season to play - it helped us mentally too."

He'll be hoping to feature and have a similar lasting impact against the Reds tomorrow, especially given the magnitude of the occasion itself - where he can reassert his first-team starting credentials and help push the side to achieve the rest of their trophy aspirations for the remaining months of the campaign.

Will Manchester City prevail? Only time will tell. We'll have all of the pre-match build-up and analysis as well as the live coverage of the fixture itself - which is scheduled for a 4PM GMT start tomorrow.
