Tottenham Hotspur fell on tough times concerns regarding injuries in recent weeks compared to the whole of last season. Not only has Harry Kane been side-lined for a number of weeks due to an ankle injury, but Toby Alderweireld unfortunately picked up a knock against West Brom during the 1-1 draw on Saturday.

Confirmed team news

Mauricio Pochettino once again confirmed yesterday that Tottenham's most crucial defender, Toby Alderweireld, did not travel due to the 'minor' injury he picked up on the weekend. Meanwhile Kane is still side-lined due to the ankle injury he suffered while playing against Sunderland. These two losses will undoubtedly play a heavy part in the way that the Argentinian manager sets out his team on Tuesday night.

Along with Kane and Alderweireld, full-back Kyle Walker has not travelled to Germany as he is being rested due to an overload of games, with both Tottenham and England, in a short period of time.

Best defence in the league

With Tottenham having the current best defence in the league, conceding only four goals so far this season, Pochettino will want to make as few adjustments as possible. However, the Argentinian's hand is being forced as central defender Alderweireld is ruled out and full-back Walker has not travelled. There is a strong possibility that England international Eric Dier will slot in for the vacant space that Alderweireld has left.

With Kyle Walker out of the game, it is almost certain that former Burnley defender Kieran Trippier will be handed his second Champions League appearance at the BayArena. This gives Tottenham a more reassured defence due to Trippier's great defensive skills, but it will also provide a very dangerous attacking threat as the full-back has proved his brilliant crossing skills over and over during the course of last season.

26 year old full-back Danny Rose is once again unlikely to be involved due to him missing out on the matchup against West Brom. This leaves space for Ben Davies to once again slot into the left back position in the Tottenham team.

Our predicted defensive line up for Spurs goes as follows; Hugo Lloris, Kieran Trippier, Eric Dier and Ben Davies.

Solid midfield options

It is speculated that Pochettino will hand central midfielder, Moussa Dembele another Champions League appearance after he missed a place in the starting line-up last match day against CSKA Moscow. This change can only reassure the weakened Tottenham defence due to the Belgian's immense defensive skills as well as he ball playing skills.

Kenyan holding midfielder Victor Wanyama is almost the first name on the team sheet these days due to his superb run of form. Wanyama has added a whole new level of power and defensive confidence into not only the Tottenham defence, but the whole team!

Superb Son and Deadly Dele

Although the player of the month, Heung-Min Son did not feature as a starter on the weekend, it is still expected that he will feature as either a left winger or single striker for Spurs on Tuesday. It is undeniable that on his day, Son can be unplayable and unstoppable. Certain Premier League defences have already experienced such events, such as both Stoke City and Middlesbrough. Son will be facing his former club Bayer Leverkusen, on Tuesday where he will want to impress.

With Dele Alli adding yet another goal for his tally this season, he will be ready and raring to go for the challenge ahead in Germany. The 20 year old sensation already has a total of three goals and one assist in the Premier League this season, which can only improve his self-confidence. Much like Son, Dele can be ferocious and unstoppable when he is on form. This paring makes for one of the deadliest attacking partnerships in the Premier League and possibly Europe at the moment.

Pochettino now has a very difficult decision to make when finalising his starting eleven, especially in the attacking half of the field. At the moment, Spurs have a total of seven attacking options, including Vincent JanssenChristian Eriksen and Moussa Sissoko. The fact that almost every Tottenham player is on superb form makes it very difficult for the 44 year old manager to only pick three or four.

Predicted attacking line up; Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli, Heung-Min Son and Vincent Janssen.
