Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino hinted that he might look at adding to his squad in the January transfer window, after Spurs laboured to a draw against AFC Bournemouth on Saturday.

Coming up against the Cherries in the lunchtime fixture, Pochettino's side were by far the second best side, and had both Hugo Lloris and poor finishing to thank as they walked away with a point from the 0-0 draw.

Do Tottenham have enough depth?

Many have suggested that Spurs, who didn't rotate much, were suffering from tiredness after battling to a draw against Bayer Leverkusen in midweek, and that it's that reason as to why they underperformed.

Pochettino seemed to agree, admitting after the game "we missed abit of freshness that you need in the first 15 minutes."

The likes of Vincent Janssen, Moussa Sissoko and Georges-Kevin Nkoudou were all brought in during the transfer window to add extra cover, but have struggled to settle so far. Janssen is yet to score in the Premier League, Nkoudou has barely been seen and Sissoko could have been sent off after coming off against the Cherries.

Pochettino indicated that Spurs perhaps need more in January, saying "maybe we need more depth in the squad to avoid a situation like the first 15 minutes."

Contenders win these type of games

That came after he admitted that if Spurs want to win the league they "need to win games like these"

The manager was at least slightly positive, telling the media that he believed his side were "much better than them in the second half," before adding that regretfully "you have to score if you want to win the game."

It'll be interesting to see what changes Pochettino makes for Tuesday's trip to Liverpool in the EFL Cup. Spurs' key players may well need a rest after a hectic week, but having not won in three, the Argentine may feel slightly pressured to send out a strong team.
