Beşiktaş 3-1 Feyenoord (Champions League third qualifying round) - Beşiktaş win 5-2 on aggregate.

Demba Ba scored a hat-trick on his home debut for Beşiktaş as they knocked Eredivisie side Feyenoord 5-2 on aggregate on Tuesday night. The Turkish side were out to increase their 2-1 lead from the first leg, and won 3-1 on the night at Ataturk Olympic Stadium.

Beşiktaş took the lead on the night in the 28th minute, as a through ball from Mustafa Pektemek rolled along Ba's leg and off his shoulder, tricking into the empty net. The goal was disputed by the Feyenoord players, who believed that Pektemek got the final touch from an offside position, though the referee dismissed all appeals and awarded the goal.

The Black Eagles were in front until the 74th minute, when Elvis Manu delicately flicked a long pass over the head of a Beşiktaş defender, before lobbing Tolga Zengin in the goal to level the scores on the night.

That 1-1 scoreline was not long-lived, however, as Ba grabbed another two goals late on to score his first ever European hat-trick, as well as becoming the first ever Beşiktaş  player to score a European hat-trick. The Senegalese striker tapped home a cross in the 80th minute, before capitalising on a poor pass to round the 'keeper and seal Beşiktaş' victory.

The defeat sees Feyenoord slip into the Europa League play-off draw, which will be made on Friday.

St Pölten 2 - 3 PSV (Europa League third qualifying round) - PSV win 4-2 on aggregate.

PSV overcame St Pölten in another challenging game in the Europa League qualifying round, winning 3-2 on the night and 4-2 on aggregate.

It took PSV 28 minutes to break down the St Pölten defence to take the lead on the night and double their aggregate lead. Midfielder Marcel Ritzmaier, who spent last season on loan at SC Cambuur, made a bursting run through the middle of the field, before feeding the ball to Jürgen Locadia, who kept his cool to slot the ball past the St Pölten goalkeeper.

After some impressive build-up play in the 55th minute, the ball fell to Daniel Lucas Segovia from around 30 yards out, and the striker hit a powerful shot under the hapless goalkeeper to equalise on the night.

Memphis Depay came on for his first appearance for PSV since the World Cup, and he made an instant impact. Within the first seven minutes of Depay coming on, he scored the second goal and he set up the third. His goal came on 69 minutes, when he tapped the ball into an empty net from three yards. His assist for Luuk de Jong's goal was a lot more impressive. Depay received the ball from a cross and his attempted scissor kick fell to de Jong, who gave PSV a three-goal aggregate advantage.

Konstatin Kerschbaumer scored a consolation goal for St Pölten, but it's PSV who advance into the Europa League play-off. They will be joined by fellow Dutch side Feyenoord, who dropped out of the Champions League on Wednesday night, as well as FC Twente, who enter into the play-offs through their third-placed finish in the Eredivisie last season.
