Eintracht Frankfurt host Turkish giants Fenerbahçe in their opening Group D fixture in the UEFA Europa League. Frankfurt has had a difficult start to the season, and they face a tough clash with Fenerbahçe, who have been in excellent form underneath Vitor Pereira.

Fenerbahçe back in Europe

Fenerbahçe have started the season on a high note, and are currently unbeaten in the Turkish Süper Lig. However, they dropped their first points this season in their previous tie vs Sivasspor. They qualified for the group stage of the Europa League after cruising past HJK Helsinki

Will this be a "bright" match?

Fenerbahçe starlet Bright Osayi-Samuel scored his first goal of the campaign during the match against Sivasspor, with the Woolwich- raised Nigerian being the talk of many pundits despite Fenerbahçe's poor performance. Osayi-Samuel joined the club from Queens Park Rangers for a fee of 450k despite agreeing on a pre-contract agreement with Fenerbahçe. All things considered, Bright will be a player to surely look out for in Thursday's tie.

Frankfurt in trouble?

Frankfurt has struggled to find a goalscoring spark so far this season. They've only scored four goals this season, and they still have not picked up a win.

Serbian winger Filip Kostić saw his deadline day move to Lazio collapse at the final hour, and there has been huge unrest in the Frankfurt camp recently because of it. According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Lazio was given a fake email address by the German side to submit their offer to. It was an email address that was not connected to the club whatsoever, so they never officially received a bid. As a result, Kostić was told that no offer had come through.
