Union Berlin will travel to the stunning Veltins-Arena on Saturday afternoon as they look to continue their brilliant start to the new Bundesliga season. Union had a superb result last week as they beat RB Leipzig 2-1 which has them currently sitting in third place.

Meanwhile, Schalke 04 have had a mediocre start to the season following their return to the top flight. They managed to draw last week against VFL Wolfsburg although they could have won the match but Simon Terrode missed a penalty.

Both teams will look to get a victory at the weekend for different reason. Union will want the win because they are looking to try and get into the champions league for next season, while Schalke are looking for the win so they can improve their chances of not being relegated again this season.

Union head coach Urs Fischer has only got one major doubt and that is loan signing Timo Baumgartl who could miss out due to a lack of match fitness, but otherwise, he has a fully fit squad for the match against Schalke. It means Sheraldo Becker will continue up front and look to cause the Schalke defense several problems.

Players to watch

Marius Bülter (Schalke 04)

Schalke had a brilliant campaign last season as they managed to win the 2. Bundesliga scoring an impressive 72 goals. Captain Simon Terodde scored 30 goals last season and grabbed all the headlines however one player that played a key part that is underlooked is Marius Bülter.

Last season Bülter managed to get an impressive 10 goals and 13 assists and has fit into the Bundesliga seamlessly. So far this season Bulter has been Schalke's most important player managing to score twice in the three matches they've played so far. Striker Terrode is yet to find his goalscoring touch meaning until he does Schalke will hope Bulter can continue his brilliant form and help them get some victories.

Sheraldo Becker (Union Berlin)

It has been a summer of change at Union with the headline being talismanic striker Taiwo Awoniyi joining Nottingham Forest for around £17 million. Many fans feared that Union would struggle this season with such a key player leaving. However, they have had a brilliant start to the season thanks to Sheraldo Becker who has stepped up to fill the void left by  Awoniyi.

Last season Becker played 28 matches and managed to score four goals and get six assists however he went under the radar due to the number of goals that Awoniyi scored last season. However, now that Awoniyi has left, Becker has managed to show his quality managing to score two goals and get two assists from their first three matches.
