Bayern Munich will travel to the Deutsche Bank Park on Friday evening where they will face current Europa league champions Eintracht Frankfurt on matchday 1 of this season. Frankfurt have had a relatively quiet transfer window but have signed a few players such as Mario Gotze and Argentinian striker Lucas Alario from rivals Bayer Leverkusen.

Meanwhile, Bayern have been spending the cash this summer acquiring Ryan Gravenberch and Noussair Mazraoui from AFC Ajax as well as defender Matthijs De Light from Juventus and Sadio Mane from Liverpool FC, however, they have also sold Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona which could impact them heavily this season.

Both teams had a relatively successful pre-season. Frankfurt managed to win against Torino and won their DFB Pokal first-round match against FC Magdeburg. Meanwhile, Bayern played against D.C. United and Manchester City as well as winning the DFL Supercup on Saturday as they beat RB Leipzig by five goals to three.

Bayern Munich: Neuer, Pavard, Upamecano, Hernandez, Davies Kimmich,  Sabitzer, Gnabry, Müller, Musiala, Mane

Key Players

Ansgar Knauff(Eintract Frankfurt)

Eintracht Frankfurt had a very poor season domestically last year as they finished in a disappointing 11th place. However in Europe they were more successful and ended up winning the Europa league. One player who stood on the road to success was teenager Ansgar Knauff.

Although he is only on loan to Frankfurt from Dortmund, last season he showed a tiny glimpse of the potential he has. His lightning quick speed and ball control caused defenders many problems and although he only scored four goals last season, he was instrumental in Frankfurt's attacks.

Sadio Mane(Bayern Munich)

Anyone who has watched the premier league over the last few seasons will no doubt be aware of the quality that Sadio Mane possesses, which is why it came as a bit of a shock that he left Liverpool for Bayern.

Mane was a vital player for Liverpool and helped them win Premier league trophies as well as the Champions League, and his stats are even more impressive. Last season Mane played a total of 51 games managing to score 23 goals with 16 of them from the premier league.

Bayern will be hoping that Mane is able to fill the gap that has been left by Robert Lewandowski, who has transferred to Barcelona after having a brilliant couple of seasons with Bayern.

Mane has already hit the ground running for his new club scoring during a pre-season friendly against DC United as well as scoring a vital to help Bayern win the DFL Supercup.

Nagelsmann and Bayern will be hoping that Mane can play as big a role for them as he did under Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool and this season help them not only win every domestic trophy but also winning the champions league.
