Sevilla were crowned as 2014-15 UEFA Europa League champions on Wednesday night, as two Carlos Bacca goals helped them overcome Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk 3-2 in Warsaw to retain the title they won a year ago.

The Ukranian side took a shock lead through Nikola Kalinic after just seven minutes, before goals from Grzegorz Krychowiak and Bacca completed the turnaround for Sevilla. Captain Ruslan Rotan levelled the scoring once more with a free-kick, only for Bacca to rifle home a winner with less than 20 minutes to play.

The Spanish side overcame Villarreal, Fiorentina and Zenit St Petersburg to lift the trophy, which gives them a place in next season's UEFA Champions League, due to new rules implemented this year. This means that there will be five Liga BBVA teams in next season's premier club competition, as Sevilla join Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Valencia.

The victory also means Sevilla have eclipsed Liverpool, Inter Milan and Juventus to become the club with the most number of Europa League wins, having won the historic competition four times.

Dnipro will be rueing defensive errors which contributed to their loss, but can be proud after going on a long run which saw them become the surprise package of the tournament. Defeating Olympiakos, Ajax and Napoli on the way to the final, they have won many fans and good things are sure to follow.

But for now, we know that the official Europa League winners for the 2014/15 season are Sevilla!
