After two exciting games that saw final scores of 7-6 in favor of the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday and the Kansas City Royals on Saturday, Sunday's matchup was much more of a pitchers' duel most of the way and included some late excitement near the end. Toronto came away with a 5-2 victory.

Chris Colabello started the scoring with a two-run shot (10) in the bottom of the fourth (video). Edwin Encarnacion led off the inning with a walk and scored on the blast. Toronto added some insurance in the seventh on Jose Bautsita's RBI ground-rule double that brought in Troy Tulowitzki

Kansas City made a game of it in the top of the eighth. New Royal Ben Zobrist smacked a two-run home run (9) with Alcides Escobar aboard to make it a 3-2 game (video). Zobrist homered twice Saturday, endearing himself to his new team and fans already, so Sunday's home run will add to that endearment.

Toronto regained its three-run advantage with two in the bottom of the eighth -- on only one hit. Three walks loaded the bases, and with one out, Ben Revere, another new Blue Jay, flew out deep to left but brought in Justin Smoak. Tulowitzki followed with an RBI single to drive home Russell Martin and advance the score to its eventual final.

Both teams are known for their fire, and that fire burned a little in the eighth. Royals starter Edison Volquez hit Josh Donaldson with a pitch in the first. In the third, Donaldson, who came up huge in this series, had another one brush by him up and in, and he eventually walked.

Then in the seventh, Ryan Madson brushed Donaldson back with another one high and tight. This pitch prompted Blue Jays manager John Gibbons to argue for Madson's ejection since the Royals had already received warnings. Gibbons, though, was the one ejected (video).

In the top of the eighth, Blue Jays reliever Aaron Sanchez then hit Escobar in the leg, causing the benches to clear.

No punches were thrown, but Sanchez was ejected. Blue Jays announcer Buck Martinez proclaimed, "You can't throw him out of the game for that; that's awful!"

Roberto Osuna replaced Sanchez on the mound, and Zobrist hit his home run off him.

Dickey (W: 6-10, 4.06 ERA) had his knuckleball working Sunday. He pitched seven very strong innings, allowing no runs on only two hits. He walked two and struck out six. Osuna (S: 7) finished the eighth and got a game-ending double play in the ninth to close it out.

Volquez (L: 10-6, 3.20) pitched six innings, allowing two runs on four hits while walking one, hitting one, and striking out four.

Kansas City has Monday off and then heads to Motown to begin a three-game set with the Detroit Tigers. The Blue Jays stay home and welcome in the Minnesota Twins for a four-game series beginning Monday.
