The Seattle Sounders rallied from a two-goal deficit to earn a point in a 3-3 draw with the Los Angeles Galaxy at Dignity Health Sports Park.

First-half goals from Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez and Victor Vazquez put Los Angeles two goals in front, but the Sounders leveled with Kelyn Rowe and Raul Ruidiaz scoring eight minutes apart.

Jordan Morris put Seattle in front for the first time all night with little more than a quarter of an hour to play, but Dejan Joveljic rescued a point, converting on a penalty kick to rescue a point for the Galaxy.

The result sees Seattle move into the seventh and final playoff spot in the Western Conference, one point and place behind Los Angeles.

Story of the match

On nine minutes, Chicharito got a slight touch on a cross, but the ball ended up straight in the arms of goalkeeper Stefan Frei.

A minute later, the Mexican international made no mistake as he finished from quick build-up play and a couple of touches in the box, beating Frei from the far post.

In the 16th minute, Morris appeared to have equalized, heading home a cross from Nicolas Lodeiro, but the goal was disallowed for offsides.

Five minutes after that, the same two players again combined, Lodeiro laying off to Morris in the box, his left-footed shot from a tight angle went wide.

Three minutes from halftime, Vazquez attempted a shot/cross from outside the corner of the box that fooled Frei and nestled in the top corner that doubled the Los Angeles advantage.

In the 53rd minute, Seattle halved the deficit as Ruidiaz got to the byline and cut the ball back through the box for Rowe, who curled his shot past Jonathan Bond.

On the hour mark, Albert Rusnak was unlucky to not have put the visitors on level terms, striking both the crossbar and post.

A minute later, Ruidiaz rose highest to meet a Lodeiro cross near the penalty area and head home to tie the score at 2-2.

The visitors took the lead in the 73rd minute as another cross by Lodeiro was headed on goal by Yeimar Gomez. Bond saved the shot, but Morris was on hand to convert the rebound.

Seattle seemed to be headed for a win, but Xavier Arreaga was called for a questionable handball in the area, giving a penalty to Los Angeles and Joveljic made no mistake to beat Frei and earn a point on a wild night in LA.

Man of the match: Jordan Morris

He scored one and could have had at least two more as in a fabulous performance, his movement was outstanding and he was a threat in the attacking areas all night, linking up well with Lodeiro in particular.
