The FA have confirmed that Arsenal's FA Cup quarter-final match away at Manchester United will be held on Monday, 9th March at 7:45pm. The match, dubbed the 'tie of the round' will be broadcast live on BBC One.

The placing of the fixture gives Arsenal five days of rest before this fixture, they face QPR away on March 4th. United also play on the Wednesday before the quarter-final, they face Newcastle away. Cup holders Arsenal make it to this stage after wins against Hull, Brighton and Middlesbrough. Their opponents beat Preston in round five after beating Yeovil and Cambridge, the latter after a replay.

Arsenal last faced Manchester United in the FA Cup was in 2011, United came out 2-0 winners after that quarter-final tie. Arsenal beat United on penalties in the 2005 final, but arguably their best FA Cup meeting came in the 1999 semi-final. That game was voted best FA Cup moment in December. Arsenal don't have a great record against Manchester United at Old Trafford though, Arsenal's last win came in September 2006.

The BBC are also showing Aston Villa's home tie against West Brom. FA Cup favourites Liverpool's home tie against Blackburn will be shown on BT Sport, along with Bradford's tie against Reading. The semi final draw will precede Arsenal's all Premier League clash.
