Scunthorpe United have signed Scott Wiseman on a two-year deal from Preston North End.

The 29-year-old, who is a Gibraltan international, arrives on free transfer from Preston where he made 35 appearances as they won promotion to the Sky Bet Championship via the playoffs.

He is the second Preston player to arrive at Glanford Park this week after they signed Jack King on Tuesday.

Speaking to the club's official website, Iron manager Mark Robins said: “He’s a good signing with a lot of experience. He’s come from a Preston side who have had a terrific season as we know and he will know one or two of our players already including Jack obviously and I’m looking forward to working with him.”

After helping Preston to promotion, Wiseman is keen to do the same for Scunthorpe: “My aim is the same aim as the club’s – to get out of this league

“Next season is going to be an exciting season and if we can push for the play-offs, that would be absolutely fantastic."

Wiseman started his career with Hull City before moving to play for Darlington, Rochdale, Barnsley and Preston.
