After suffering late heartache against West Brom midweek, Chelsea will be hoping to get back on track in the Premier League when they face Everton on Saturday.

The Blues come into the game off the back of a 2-2 draw with the Baggies, conceding a late James McClean equaliser. Everton though managed to earn a workman like point against Manchester City on Wednesday, no doubt they will be the more happy of the two sides.

Background

Chelsea have lost only two of their last seven games to Everton, with one of those defeats coming in the 2014/2015 season.

Those last seven games though have produced no draws, which would lead you to believe we will be seeing a result in this game - Chelsea have won five of those games.

Neither team has been struggling for form in all competitions recently, with  the home-side unbeaten in seven and the Merseysiders losing only 1 of their last seven.

A win for Chelsea would be massive a massive boost for the side, and ease manager Guus Hiddink's concerns over relegation. The victory would see Chelsea move up a spot - depending on other results - and sit one point behind their opponents.

Everton could make the biggest jump though of the two, with a win - and other results depending - could take them up to 8th in the table.

Familiar faces will be the hot topic on Saturday though, with former Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku more than likely to start for Everton. Whether he can perform against his old club is a different story.

Team News

Chelsea: Hiddink will be boosted by the fact that there are no fresh injury concerns, with only the longer term ones still on the sidelines.

Radamel Falcao is one of the long term absentees still facing time of the pitch, he continues with his rehabilitation. Eden Hazard also remains out of the team, but could be expected to return soon. With no new problems, Hiddink has a full squad to choose from.

Everton: Again Everton are in the same position as Chelsea, with only a few problems that Roberto Martinez will ponder.

Everton's Tom Cleverley is touch and go for the trip, with the midfielder missing the last two games with a calf injury. Other midfielder James McCarthy is edging closer to full fitness after suffering with a groin problem. He is unlikely to feature though, as is Seamus Coleman who is also injured.

Players to look out for

Chelsea - Diego Costa: In a year which had nothing much to celebrate, Diego Costa started to find his form towards the end of 2015 and followed that into 2016. Since Jose Mourinho's departure, the Spanish international has been banging in the goals but failed to score midweek against West Brom. This makes the striker extra dangerous, and he will be looking to net against Everton.

Everton - Romelu Lukaku: It had to be Lukaku for Everton, he has undoubtably been their stand out player this season. With his goals, assists and high level of performance, he has to be the dangerman this Saturday. He will be hoping though that he can prove his old club wrong, and show them why he should not have been sold on.
