The Capital One Cup has certainly produced a lot of fantastic moments for Jürgen Klopp, even though his managerial reign has only really just started at Liverpool.

Tuesday night's penalty shoot-out win at Anfield against a very well-organised Mark Hughes Stoke City side was the best moment yet of a tremendous run which started at home to Carlisle United at the end of September, under different management.

Many Liverpool fans would probably not have expected to progress this far in the competition after scraping by Carlisle on penalties on Merseyside.

However, since then Liverpool have upped their performance levels with fine wins against Premier League opposition in Bournemouth and Southampton in the competition.

Klopp a big fan of the competition

In quite an entertaining interview with Liverpoolfc.com, Klopp was very relaxed post-match considering the stress he had gone through with a penalty shoot-out lottery. This was evident when he said that "Until now, it has been a great tournament."

Klopp was in a jovial mood as usual, cracking a few jokes and with a smile as wide as the Wembley pitch. He is all about the team and is a great man-manager, something he was renowned for at Borussia Dortmund and it came as no surprise to anyone when he explained that the final is for "the whole squad because nearly everybody has played."

Headded that in the second round a "young team played" and "did great against" what would be regarded as tough Premier League opposition in Bournemouth, especially if you were playing a team not experienced at this level.

He described their fourth round win over Southampton as "the perfect game" and many Liverpool fans will agree. They were sensational that night and tore apart a very competitive and physically strong Southampton team with ease, winning 6-1.

This brought great momentum into the two Stoke matches and Klopp stated that "we fought for the final."  He then set off some laughter by shrewdly proclaiming in true Klopp style: "Until now, I love this cup."

City await at Wembley:

Klopp made it very clear on Tuesday night that he wouldn't mind Everton or Manchester City in the cup final but it was City who came out on top in a controversial thriller at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday.

Sergio Aguero scored the winner as City won 3-1 on the night and 4-3 on aggregate, but Everton will feel aggrieved by some dodgy decisions by the officials.

It was interesting to see Klopp's post match interview with Sky Sports however, and how, when this question was put to him, he gave quite a short, simple reply stating: "So Everton or Man City, I don't care, we will win the cup." This date next month we will know the answer to that.
