It's been a long season for Chelsea, and with no silverware to play for and mid-table mediocrity they will be hoping they can finish the campaign strongly.

The Blues face Tottenham on Monday night, with Guus Hiddink having the opportunity to spoil the Spurs title bid. If the fail to beat Chelsea, then Leicester will automatically win the title.

Hiddink's side won't be thinking about that though, they will be more focused on finishing the season strongly and giving their home fans something to cheer about as the campaign comes to a close.

Background

Both sides will be hoping for a win for different reasons, one trying to keep the title race going and the other for pride.

It's a pretty mixed form bag as well looking at the two sides in recent weeks too.

Chelsea have only picked up two wins in their last seven games as of late, with the worry being that none of those came on home turf.

Tottenham on the other hand are unbeaten in their last seven league games, but the draws have been very costly.

The two sides have a large history, and a mixed bag of results between the two in recent years.

The last seven meetings has seen three draws, one Spurs win and three Chelsea wins - all of those wins coming at Stamford Bridge for the blues as well.

Team News

Chelsea defenders John Terry and Gary Cahill are expected to be available for the clash with Spurs. While Terry may not be able to start after missing the last 10 matches, Cahill should be in line for one as illness only ruled him out last week. Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois will complete his two-match suspension, he was sent off in the defeat to Manchester City two weeks ago.

Eric Dier will be touch and go for Tottenham tonight, he suffered concussion in the 1-1 draw against West Brom. Dele Alli will also miss the clash as he starts his three match suspension for violent conudct, notably Nabil Bentaleb is the only other injury doubt as he struggles with a knee problem.

Players to Watch

Cesc Fabregas - The Spanish magician has been somewhat under-par this season when it comes to performance level, but last week against Bournemouth he should some of his best football. Fabregas picked up three assists and had a massive influence from the central area. Chelsea will need him to do this against Tottenham, creating opportunities for goals.

Harry Kane - The young English striker has been in red-hot form as of late, with it being a massive surprise that he didn't score against West Brom last Monday. All the more reason for Chelsea to worry though, Kane has 13 goals in his last 14 Premier League games and he won't be letting up tonight as Spurs looking to keep the title race alive.
