Huddersfield seal Scott Malone deal

Huddersfield Town have been active again in the transfer market, signing left-back Scott Malone from Fulham as they look towards their first season in the Premier League.

After a rollercoaster season for Fulham, finishing in the final play-off spot, the London club have now seen fit that they should allow their player to move onto bigger things at the Terriers, with Fulham having been cruelly beaten by Reading to ruin their hopes of facing Huddersfield in the play-off final.

Malone was regularly the first name on the team sheet in his debut season for Fulham, scoring six goals in 30 games, adding to Fulham's joint highest goal scoring efforts of 85 goals - which is even more impressive especially after selling one of their record signings Ross McCormack to recently relegated Premier League oufit Aston Villa.

Wagner pleased with capture

Huddersfield's Head Coach David Wagner was unsurprisingly pleased with the signature, saying“I’m excited to welcome Scott to Huddersfield Town. Our fans will have seen in our games against Fulham last season what a good player he is and I know his abilities will suit our style of play very well.

“Scott is a good physical presence and is a very capable defender, plus he adds a lot going forward. He shows good football intelligence to time his forward runs and can setup goals for teammates and scoring them himself,"
 he said.

What this means for defender Chris Lowe is still uncertain, but after him appearing in 41 Huddersfield fixtures last season it is not thought that he will be surplus to requirements any time soon.
