Southampton will look to put a poor Premier League campaign behind them to potentially progress to the FA Cup semi-final in this south coast derby vs AFC Bournemouth

Bournemouth come into this game in good form after beating promotion candidates Swansea 3-0 on tuesday. An inconsistent season from the cherries means they currently sit just out the play -off places in 7th.

Sitting in 14th, Saints need a good result against their south coast rivals to shine some light on a season filled with more negatives than positives. A lack of goals from Ralph Hassenhuttl's team has been the problem, which has seen them slide down the table after sitting in 1st during November.

Team News - Southampton FC

Southampton are still without talisman Danny Ings; a big blow for Hassenhuttl.

Theo Walcott is also absent through injury, as well as Oriel Romeu who is sidelined till the end of the season with a knee injury.

Team news - AFC Bournemouth

Bournemouth are still without David Brooks, as well as Lewis Cook and Adam Smith

Previous meetings

Over the last five meetings, Southampton have enjoyed the south coast derby more, winning twice and drawing once. The most recent fixture was a 2-0 win to Southampton, at the Vitality Stadium.
