Ki Sung-Yueng will be fit and back for selection for Swansea City this weekend after recovering from concussion.

The South Korea international was absent for the Swans' 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace, having suffered a blow to the head in the game prior - a 1-1 draw with West Bromwich Albion.

However, he will return on Saturday when his side host Southampton, and they will need him too as the Saints are in splendid form and have a brilliant record against the Welsh outfit.

Ready and raring to go

After missing last weekend's action, Ki is ready to return on Saturday, having recovered from the injury suffered against West Brom.

Ki was stretchered off two weeks ago after being caught by Stéphane Sessègnon with a flailing arm. The former Sunderland winger's connection with the South Korean - which he knows "wasn't intentional" - had him "really dizzy after the game", with him telling the South Wales Evening Post that he also "had a big headache for a few days."

However, he says he "feel[s] good now" after "a few days of rest" and "two days" of having "ice on [his] face."

"I'm back in training and ready to play this weekend."

Timely return for big clash

As well as revealing he was fit for the weekend, Ki also recognised the importance of the fixture he returns for.

"It's a big game for us," he said, explaining that that is because Swansea "should have won the last two games" and so victory on Saturday would be "a big boost" after those disappointing results.

The importance of the game increases because it's at the Liberty Stadium, with Ki dubbing games for Swansea in front of their own fans as "crucial."

"It's another game at home so we have to perform for the fans," he said. "We are determined to get maximum points."
