The guard has signed following a one year stint with Ukrainian Super League side Kharkivski Sokoly

Following four years in college in America, Jackson is ready to continue to prove himself in the European leagues, to continue his impressive start to his young career.

Jackson’s Career So Far

Jackson spent four years at college with Omaha Mavericks, starting 116 games in 126 appearances.

His most successful season came in his senior and final year at college, as Jackson averaged 18 points per game on a very impressive 49.5% from the field and 43.2% from three-point range.

Not only this, but Jackson also contributed an additional four rebounds per game during his senior year, along with two assists.

The move abroad to the Ukrainian League allowed Jackson to begin to show himself in a professional league, and he showed his high class straight away for Kharkivski.

Although there was a decrease in Jackson’s three-point percentages, down to a respectable 34.5%, he continued to show his class at scoring the basketball.

Averaging 12.3 points per game in 28 minutes of action, on 47% from the field and 78% from the free-throw line, Jackson showed his skills away from the three-point line.

The guard still provided in other areas of the game too, with four rebounds and 1.5 assists per game, and with a year's experience in professional basketball, expect these numbers to increase as he finds his feet in England.

Jackson Eager to Represent Leicester

Jackson made it clear that he’s ready to shine for Leicester, and believes that the side is ready to create a positive winning environment in the Riders dressing room.

Speaking to the Riders club website, Jackson said: “It’s exciting to join such a successful program and play for the fans of Leicester.

“I’m ready to get to work with my new teammates and I’m really looking forward to a good season.

“I’m thankful for the opportunity to represent the city of Leicester, play for the Riders organisation and its fans.”

Head Coach Delighted to See Signing of Jackson Confirmed

Zach Jackson is Head Coach Rob Paternostro's sixth summer signing as the Riders aim to build on their success of the 2019/20 season, and he believes Jackson could lead the team to glory.

Speaking to the Riders' official website, Paternostro said: “We are very happy to have Zach on board, he is a talented player who has the ability to score from all over the floor.

“He is an excellent long-range shooter both off the catch and off the dribble, but he is also a guy that can score in the paint with drives, cuts, and post-ups. He really has a knack for putting the ball in the basket.

“We were very impressed with his efficiency on the offensive end and are looking forward to being able to use his versatility on both ends of the floor.

“I enjoyed speaking with him, he has a hunger for the game and is a guy that has worked extremely hard to become the player he is.

“He has great size for a perimeter player, a late growth spurt has seen him grow to 6-7 which I think will make him an even tougher guy to defend.

"We like his ability to take advantage of smaller defenders, with his size at the guard position he can be a really tough match-up for smaller guards.”
