Ahead of the 2020/21 British Basketball League season, the Cheshire Phoenix have snapped up the signing of French small forward Sehill Mouliom.

This will be Mouliom’s first year in professional basketball following his tenure with Malone University Pioneers.

The 23-year-old Frenchman spent four years playing college basketball for Vincennes University followed by his junior and senior years completed at Malone University.

Mouliom’s Journey So Far

Mouliom began his career back in his home country of France, where he played under-21 basketball for Boulogne-Levallois, who he made sixteen appearances for.

Following his stint with the French side, he moved to Vincennes University, where he would make 68 appearances in two years.

In minimal minutes of action, Mouliom showed what he could do, averaging over three points, two rebounds and shooting at above 50% in the two years.

After two years with Vincennes University, Mouliom moved to Malone University, where, in his junior year, made 27 appearances - but it was his senior year where he impressed massively.

Starting all 30 games this year for Malone, Mouliom averaged 13.3 points per game along with four rebounds, 1.3 assists and averaging almost one steal a game.

His shooting numbers improved again, for the fourth year running, as he shot an incredible 58% from the field and 70% from the free throw line, a vast improvement on the 49% he averaged the year before.

Mouliom On Joining The Nix

The 6'8" small forward is very optimistic about the future that he and the Phoenix have together, and it didn’t take much persuading to get Mouliom on board with the Phoenix project.

Speaking to the Cheshire Phoenix website, Mouliom said: “It feels great to sign to Cheshire Phoenix and I’m looking forward to a great season in a new environment for my rookie season.

“My cousin Karim ‘played’ here even though he had a season ending injury and he told me how great the program was and that I would be a great fit for this team and league.

Coach Thomas Acquires Another Gem

Coach Ben Thomas has been putting the pieces together for what he hopes to be another successful season for the Phoenix, and this addition just adds more to the talent pool Cheshire have acquired.

Speaking to the Phoenix website, he said: “It’s great having Sehill here next season. He’s a very athletic, versatile forward who will be able to play at both positions in our front court.

“Sehill’s athleticism will definitely make him a fan favourite, he plays above the rim a lot!

"The most important thing for us though is that he is always the hardest working player on his team.

"I know he’s ready for the season to get started and to have a great rookie season!”
