After a 30-day suspension for violating the WWE’s wellness policy, Roman Reigns returned to action. Reigns career has been unique since his arrival on the main WWE roster with Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins to make the trio called the Shield. At first, Reigns provided the muscle for the antagonist group the Shield but as time went on the fans started to support Reigns and his cohorts. Yet that ended when Seth Rollins cracked Reigns and Ambrose with a chair.

Since the split up of the Shield, they are still the most revered wrestling faction since arguably the NWO. It appeared that Reigns was on the precipice of becoming the top protagonist in the WWE then the 2015 Royal Rumble occurred and the overwhelmingly negative and venomous reaction from the Philadelphia crowd demonstrated how certain portions of the WWE Universe were not accepting Reigns.

After the 2015 Royal Rumble, whenever Reigns name was announced, the live audience would have a mixed reaction similar to John Cena. There were many landmark achievements for Reigns including headlining a WrestleMania twice and winning the WWE title three times. Yet two days after losing the WWE strap to Seth Rollins, who quickly relinquished the strap to Dean Ambrose, Reigns was notified of his suspension. Now the question is what to do with Roman Reigns now.

Turn Reigns Heel

Upon Reigns reentry onto television, the live audience added more spite to their voice when stating their displeasure toward Reigns. It would be easy to have Roman Reigns return to his antagonist ways because a significant portion of the audience already hates him. This turn could occur by having Reigns attack a hero for any cause such as that person caused him a chance to reclaim the WWE title.

Have Reigns feud with Finn Balor or Sami Zayn

One of the selling points of the brand split was to have new matchups that have not been seen on Raw or Smackdown Live. Reigns competing in a series of matches between either Finn Balor or Sami Zayn would be one of those new feuds. For this feud to work Reigns would need to turn heel because both Balor and Zayn have tremendous fan support at this moment.

Balor is one of the hottest prospects from NXT and has already shown he can be a main eventer by participating in matches that have helped establish the NXT brand. This was demonstrated by Balor’s performance against Reigns on July 25, 2016, edition of Raw. Sami Zayn also had an incredible series of matches against Kevin Owens yet Zayn needs to have a new opponent. A sneak attack by Roman Reigns on Zayn would help solidify Reigns have an evil doer and enhance a hero element to Zayn.

Have feud with Kevin Owens or Chris Jericho

If the decision is made to keep Reigns as a face the two best candidates are Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho. Kevin Owens is the best performer at providing a scathing promo on the microphone and on Twitter. Owens could be the mouthpiece for all the WWE Universe members who loathe Reigns and could provide promos and tweets that engage the WWE fans even more against Reigns.

Jericho debuted in the WWE by challenging the Rock in a promo, even though Jericho lost the verbal joust with the Great One, Jericho can also cut a mean promo. Since Jericho also host the highlight reel which could be the site where the feud between Y2J and Reigns ignites. Jericho could invite Reigns for an interview and Jericho could say some offensive remarks that enrage Reigns and causes Reigns to retaliate.
