The transfer deadline is in just over a day and there is likely to be more arrivals and departures at St. Mary's before the clock strikes 12 and Jim White calls time on this summer's crazy window.

But who could Southampton be signing and saying goodbye to before the deadline?

Incomings: Jack Wilshere

We'll start with the potential incoming players. Arsenal's Jack Wilshere is set to leave the club on a season long loan before the end of the window, in the hope of giving him some more game time. The England midfielder has struggled to stay fit in recent seasons, which has massively hampered his progress and development.

Southampton are reportedly interesting in signing the player, although they will face stiff competition from the likes of West Ham, Juventus, Malaga and Valencia. If any deal is set to take place, it will still be in the early stages, although anything can happen on Deadline Day.

Rachid Ghezzal

After missing out on Italian Simone Zaza, Claude Puel may be in the hunt for a new striker to bolster his under-performing front line. The loss of Graziano Pelle is also likely to be a factor in a new striker being brought into the club.

Algerian forward Rachid Ghezzal is currently playing for Lyon, meaning Puel will be familiar with his style and what he can bring to the Saints. The 24-year-old is valued at £9m and has reportedly turned down a move to Everton and West Ham, as he wants to play European football.

Islam Slimani

Another forward who may be in line to join the club is Islam Slimani. Another Algerian, Slimani was heavily linked with Southampton at the start of the window before the rumours went cold. The striker is said to be looking for a move to England.

However, Premier League champions Leicester have had a bid of around £25m turned down by Sporting Lisbon, meaning Southampton will have to smash their transfer record for the second time this week if they want to bring him into the club.

Slimani would be a signing welcomed by fans, as his record for Lisbon stands at 48 goals in 82 games.

Outgoings: Jay Rodriguez

Jay Rodriguez is likely to exit the club on loan before tomorrow's deadline. Sunderland have reportedly been told they cannot sign the Englishman permanently but a loan bid would be considered. West Brom and Hull City have both been linked with the player in recent weeks.

Rodriguez scored during Southampton's 1-1 draw with Sunderland at the weekend and there may still be time for him to fight for his place in the side.

Cuco Martina

Cuco Martina has been linked with a move to Everton throughout the window, with former manager Ronald Koeman said to be interested in the right back. Puel did not believe Martina had a future at the club due to the signing of Frenchman Jeremy Pied

However, Pied has since suffered a cruciate ligament injury and is likely to miss around six months of this season whilst he recovers. Martina now may be kept as cover for first choice right back Cedric Soares.

The Curacao international was said to be happy to be linking up with Koeman once again.

Jose Fonte

A rumour that has been doing the rounds over the past few weeks, is that of Jose Fonte leaving Southampton to sign for Manchester United. Jose Mourinho was said to be interested in his fellow countryman, as he looks to further bolster his defence.

Puel has repeatedly said Fonte is happy at the club and will not be leaving this summer but knowing Mourinho, it could happen in the closing stages of the window. If Southampton lose their captain, it would arguably be their biggest loss of the transfer window so far.

The 32-year-old was set to be offered a new contract to fend off other suitors but no new deal has been agreed yet.
