Southampton host Chelsea this weekend, as both teams look to extend their unbeaten runs in the league.
The visitors have won their last three, including a convincing 4-0 rout of Manchester United last week. The Saints could move up to sixth position with another win.
Keeping up appearances
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte was rumoured to be on borrowed time just a few weeks ago, after a stuttering start to his reign in England. The Italian and his side have since recorded three wins on the spin and look like a side that can go on to push for the title.
Southampton will have their clash with Inter Milan on their minds but will want to claim another scalp, as they did last week at Manchester City. Claude Puel has got the South Coast outfit playing lovely football and the fans are on board with his desired philosophy.
The Blues have not conceded in their last three games, scoring nine goals in total. Southampton have also been tight at the back, conceding just three goals in their last ten competitive matches.
The boys in form
Both teams have players who are performing very well at present. Chelsea's Diego Costa is keeping Summer signing Michy Batshuayi out of the starting line-up, as he continues to bang in the goals for the club. The Spaniard, however, has failed to score in his last two games, which is something he will want to put right.
Southampton look good going forward, with Nathan Redmond and Charlie Austin both in good veins of form. Both have been mentioned for England call ups, but are yet to receive the call from Gareth Southgate.
Austin has been deadly in front of goal and has scored five goals at St. Mary's so far this campaign.
Previous meetings
Southampton haven't had the best of times against Chelsea over the years. The Saints have only beaten them twice since 2002; they went eleven years years without beating the Londoners.
Last season Southampton took advantage of Jose Mourinho's poor patch, by beating Chelsea 3-1 at Stamford Bridge. Two of the goalscorers that day have moved on to other clubs- Sadio Mane and Graziano Pelle. Guus Hiddink's Chelsea inflicted their revenge in the reverse fixture, claiming a 2-1 win in February this year.
Southampton have won 30 of their 97 games against Chelsea in total. Chelsea have won 39 of the meetings.
