Season opener and finisher, Manchester derbies, and top of the table clashes are no doubt the fixtures that matter to Manchester City's fanbase, so here is a look at all of the key clashes for Pep Guardiola's side as they look to regain their Premier League crown.

First Up

Despite Aston Villa being the first name on City's fixture list, due to their involvement in Europe the Blues' 'official' first game will be postponed until a later date. This means Guardiola's side will kick off their campaign with a tricky task away at Wolverhampton Wanderers on the 19th of September.

There is no doubt the former champions will not be taking this one for granted after Wolves completed the double over City last campaign which included a dramatic 3-2 win at Molineux for Nuno Espirito Santo's side, after they came from behind late on to defeat 10-man City.

Title Rival Clashes

After losing their Premier League title last term to Liverpool, arguably two of the biggest games of this campaign will be played out between these two. The first meeting will take place at the Etihad Stadium as the Blues host Jurgen Klopp's side on the weekend of the seventh of November. Guardiola's side will be hoping to match their emphatic victory in the same fixture from last season after they ran out convincing 4-0 winners.

The meeting on Merseyside is penciled in for weekend of the sixth of February and could prove to be a big one in the title race. City are without a victory at Anfield since 2003, and after their meeting last campaign all but ended their title hopes, Guardiola will be hoping to put things right this season.

Derby Days

The two most important dates for all City supporters are without doubt the two Manchester derbies. It is the Red Devils that host the first encounter as the two meet on the weekend of the 12th of December, whilst City's turn to host their rivals will take place on the weekend of the sixth of March.

After Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side did the double over City last campaign, Guardiola's side will be no doubt out for revenge this term.

Final Outing

The Blues will have home advantage on the final day of the 2020/21 season as they host Everton on the 23rd of May. This meeting could prove a big one if previous campaigns are anything to go by as City have won three of their four Premier League titles on the final day. Will the Blues do it again in this one?
