  • On his sides scintillating display

The Liverpool manager was full of praise for his side after Tuesday nights performance.

"It was the performance we needed. My boys played an incredible game. Top, top level. Everybody was involved. It was a really good game."

  • On Roberto Firmino / Diogo Jota

"The world is sometimes a bad place, in the moment when somebody is shining we immediately speak about another player who played what feels like 500 games in a row. Without Bobby Firmino we would not even be in the CL."

It was another fine night for Liverpool's summer acquisition, Jota. He capped of his fine performance by clinching his third goal in the second half, to his and his team mates delight.

With Roberto Firmino struggling for form of late, it gives Klopp a serious headache ahead of Sundays encounter with Pep Guardiola's side.

  • Rhy Williams' first European start

It wasn't just Jota who caught the eye tonight in Italy. Young Rhys Williams continued to impress, as he partnered up with Joe Gomez to keep the free scoring Italian side at bay, in what was the perfect European performance from Klopp's men.

"Exceptional. I cannot imagine being 19 and playing in the CL against Zapata, it’s incredible! "I couldn’t be more happy for Rhys. You should see him in the dressing room, you’d need something special to get the smile off his face!"
