Hull City Head Coach Shota Arveladze was pleased with his side’s 3-0 victory over Reading at the MKM Stadium.

Keane Lewis-Potter bagged a brace and Alfie Jones scored his first goal for the Tigers as Reading lost but still secured safety from relegation.

Here is what he had to say after the match.

  • ”Good goals, good three points”

At home in front of the supporters we have struggled to get a good win, but I have to please the boys but also the crowd who come to see us. The game was a good one, good goals, good three points.

  • ”I think they came for a draw”

The pitch gets dry quickly and this didn’t help us in the first half with sloppy balls and passes – but we controlled the game and didn’t give too much away. They had two or three half chances. I think they came for the draw but I am pleased we got the result.

It was a bit slow due to the pitch and then the goal makes them move a little bit more, then we did the same. They needed the point to stay in the league so I can imagine why they came out and why they were safe.

It was difficult to play those types of games. We got the goal and we had to attack, risk more. They changed and they played almost 4-2-4 at times, and that cost them.

We spoke about it and we wanted to give our supporters good games. That’s why they come and want to watch us. It was great to see this.

  • On Keane Lewis Potter

If we lose him or not we have to see but I think we have to work hard to try get a similar player. Our academy is good and it’s great to see our local lads score and come through.

The way we sent free kicks today was really good to see. We train on this; it does not come from nothing.

We spoke about Baxter’s injury and every week I asked about his fitness. I was looking forward to see him come back and he deserves to play. I believe he wants to stay, that’s what I feel. This is about Chelsea as well.
