Coventry City’s assistant manager Adi Viveash has agreed a new undisclosed length contract with the Skyblues, similar to manager Mark Robins.

The 52-year-old arrived at the club back in late 2017 when the club were sat in the top-half of League Two, following the departure of then assistant manager Steve Taylor due to health/personal reasons.

What Success Has Viveash Had Elsewhere?

Viveash joined Coventry City after spending years at Chelsea, where he achieved plenty of successful moments including leading Chelsea’s U18s to three consecutive FA youth cup finals as well as winning the UEFA youth league in 2015 and 2016. Amongst this, he also oversaw the development of several star youngsters such as Mason Mount, Billy Gilmour and Coventry’s ex Chelsea trio Fankaty Dabo, Todd Kane and Kasey Palmer

What Success Has He Had At Coventry?

Since his arrival in late 2017, Viveash has overseen a dramatic change in form for Coventry City as they achieved two promotions in three seasons as well as stabilising themselves in the Championship.

In his debut season, Viveash stood in for Steve Taylor and assisted manager Mark Robins in improving the Skyblues form, especially following the then injury to star man Jodi Jones. By the end of the season, Coventry had finished in their first play-off spot for almost fifty years and went all the way by beating Exeter City in the League Two play-off final in 2018.

He then helped to bring in the likes of Zain Westbrooke and Dujon Sterling as the club secured a top-half finish in their debut season back in League One. The following season, he helped to bring in fans favourite Fankaty Dabo as the clubs stormed to the League One title in the 2019/2020 season, despite it being ended early due to Covid-19.

Since the clubs promotion to the Championship, more ex Chelsea players have arrived as the club secured safety in their debut return before securing their first top-half finish in the Championship in sixteen years.

Work now begins ahead of a very intriguing 2022/2023 Championship season for the Skyblues.
