Fleetwood will be looking for a win when they welcome the Rams to Highbury, having drawn their last two League One fixtures against Morecambe and Cheltenham.

Derby are seeking their first away win in the league after losing their first away game to Charlton Athletic and drawing their most recent match 0-0 against Shrewsbury Town.

  • Team news

Fleetwood Town

The Cod Army will be without new signing Carlos Mendes Gomes as the Luton Town loanee has a hamstring injury. Callum Morton is also set to miss out as Scott Brown does not want to rush him back with important fixtures coming up.

Derby County

The Rams are without club captain Curtis Davies for the third match running due to a thigh injury. James Chester is also unavailable as he is still recovering from an Achilles problem which has kept him out of the first four matches.

  • Predicted lineups

Fleetwood Town (4-3-3)

Lynch, Andrew, Earl, Nsiala, Rooney, Macadam, Batty, Vela, Morton, Garner, Lane

Derby County (4-3-3)

Wildsmith, Roberts, Cashin, Stearman, Knight, Hourihane, Bird, Smith, Barkhuizen, Collins, Mendez-Laing

  • Key players

Daniel Batty

Currently Fleetwood’s top scorer this season with two goals from midfield, Daniel Batty could be an important figure for Brown’s team should they get something from the match. Both of his goals this season have come from inside the box so the Rams' defence will have to ensure they do not allow the space for the midfielder to create an opening.

Nathaniel Mendez-Laing

Consistently performing for the Rams since his arrival, Nathaniel Mendez-Laing has produced some scintillating performances in the opening games of the season. His pace and power on the wing have proven a problem for many full-backs he has faced so far. Despite a quieter performance on Tuesday night the Rams' winger can certainly prove a threat at any time with the ball at his feet.
