Tottenham Hotspur's winless run stretched to five games as Leicester City took a point from White Hart Lane on Saturday, with an even match finishing 1-1.

Vincent Janssen bagged his first Premier League goal for the Lilywhites with a penalty towards the end of the first half, however it took just minutes for Ahmed Musa to level the scoreline after the interval.

There were chances from then on for each team to find a winner, but neither could, leaving the spoils shared, Spurs' third consecutive 1-1 draw in the Premier League.

Lamela forced out through illness, Mahrez selected

With Erik Lamela forced out of action through injury, Mauricio Pochettino opted to use Son Heung-Min from the left, with Janssen leading the line for Spurs.

Claudio Ranieri refrained from resting Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez ahead of the Foxes' midweek European fixture against Copenhagen, despite many anticipating that he'd leave his stars out.

It was the home side, Tottenham, who enjoyed the better start to the game, although there weren't any clear cut chances early on in the proceedings. Dele Alli tested goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel with a low shot, whilst Danny Rose was next to call the Dane into action, Schmeichel keeping both efforts out.

Janssen drills home penalty opener

Just as Spurs looked to really cement their dominant position, with Christian Eriksen and Victor Wanyama both shooting off-target, the best chance of the opening half-hour came Leicester's way, with Shinji Okazaki heading wide from a fantastic Mahrez cross.

However, the opening goal did go the way of the home side, in stoppage time at the end of the first half, minutes after Dele Alli had struck the bar.

It was a penalty decision, and a contentious one at that, referee Bobby Madley deeming that their was enough contact from Robert Huth on Janssen in the box, and pointing to the spot. Janssen stepped up, confidently smashing the ball down the middle of the goal for his second successful spot-kick of the week.

Musa moves in to equalise

Unfortunately for Janssen and co, they couldn't hold onto their lead for long after the break, with Leicester equalising through Musa just three minutes into the second half.

It was sloppy from Tottenham, Leicester alive to capitalise on Pochettino's side starting slowly. Jamie Vardy drove down the right hand side of the area, squaring the ball back across the box where Musa lay, running off Kyle Walker's blind-side to convert.

Cluster of cards followed by tense finale

Things went somewhat quiet after the quick burst of goals, with a flurry of yellow cards, Vardy, Mahrez, Musa and Wanyam all going into the book.

Still to score an open play goal for his new club, Janssen looked for his second of the afternoon from a free-kick after Alli was hauled down just outside the penalty area, but his effort could only find the top of the net.

Claudio Ranieri rolled the dice with three substitutions, whilst it took Pochettino until the 83rd minute to make his only change, with Georges-Kevin Nkoudou coming on for Alli.

The changes seemed to work for Ranieri as Leicester enjoyed a spell of pressure as the clock edged closer to 90 minutes, yet it was Spurs who came closest in the dying minutes. Jan Vertonghen rose highest after a ball was delivered into the area, but his header rattled back off the crossbar.

Leicester retreated after that scare, holding on for a point in an eventful game. Tottenham remain unbeaten in the Premier League this season, but their confidence will be dented by each passing game until they claim the next victory.
