Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Blaise Matuidi has refused to discuss his future, despite suggestions heavily linking him with a move to José Mourinho's ever-improving Manchester United side.

Having played in a holding midfield role alongside Paul Pogba in France's 2-0 victory over Germany on Thursday evening, the 29-year-old will be hoping for a similar effective performance against Fernando Santos' Portugal team - who've earned their place in this summer's tournament final, albeit on the fortunate side.

United linked with possible Matuidi move

Matuidi's featured in all of France's fixtures since the opening game victory against Romania, and if United are unable to re-sign Pogba, they're expected to approach Matuidi over a possible switch to England's top flight.

PSG continue to strength their ranks with European success in mind

PSG have recently bolstered their midfield options by signing Sevilla's Grzegorz Krychowiak, whilst 23-year-old key man Marco Verratti is returning from groin surgery and Adrien Rabiot - who has been linked with a move to the Premier League previously - will be hoping for more regular minutes next term.

Under new manager Unai Emery, the Parisens will be hoping for a better display in next season's Champions League - especially considering the manner of their exit at the quarter-final stage against Manchester City, who put up a feeble fight away against eventual winners Real Madrid at the Bernabeú.

At France's Clairefontaine training base, Matuidi was asked as to whether it was a compliment to be in Mourinho's thoughts over a potential transfer after the tournament. He did well to quash speculation though, saying that he is "French before everything" and is "100% concentrating on the Euros", meaning it's "not the time" to ask or answer questions on transfer-related topics.

"I am living in an exceptional moment that perhaps we will not live again in our lives. I am living it very proudly - I'm still under contract with PSG and it stops there."
